<h4 class="wp-block-heading"></h4>

<p>Global Crime Index 2022 part 1 &#8211; that will be the topic of today’s article.</p>

<p>Before introducing this article, if you are interested in our core services which are expat financial, insurance and mortgages, you can contact me&nbsp;<a href="https://adamfayed.com/expats-lets-talk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">here</a>.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The best time to consider your financial situation is when you are moving to a new country.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Introduction</strong></h2>

<p>The Global Crime Index 2022 revealed that crime rates continue to rise worldwide, with no signs of slowing down. In fact, the number of people victimized by crimes has doubled since 2012.</p>

<p>While many believed that increases in security would have prevented an escalation in criminal activity, the statistics only show a greater need for improved safety measures. &#8220;Unfortunately, even with heightened security in every country, the sheer number of people wanting to break the law far surpasses our ability to stop them,&#8221; said crime analyst Martin Crowley.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="612" height="344" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1194783222-612x612-1.jpg" alt="Global Crime Index 2022 " class="wp-image-9958" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1194783222-612x612-1.jpg 612w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1194783222-612x612-1-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 612px) 100vw, 612px" /></figure>

<p>While there were some fluctuations in certain regions, the overall trend indicated that criminal activity increased in all countries compared to 2021 levels. The Global Crime Syndicate has controlled most of the crime in recent years. Most crimes are planned and performed by professionals with high technology.</p>

<p>However, the only way to stop these crimes is by having advanced surveillance and protective gear, which can be easily disabled by new technologies that will cause problems for law enforcement personnel.</p>

<p>Crime rates have been increasing every year for the past 20 years. This has caused concern among leaders of various international groups, searching for ways to stop these rising numbers. Not to talk much, we have compiled this <a href="https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/crime-rate-by-country" target="_blank" data-type="URL" data-id="https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/crime-rate-by-country" rel="noreferrer noopener">Global Crime Index 2022</a> to help understand how crime has evolved around the world.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Overview of Crime Index 2022</h2>

<p>When you&#8217;re thinking about crime, do you ever think about what kind of crimes are more prevalent than others? Well, the Crime Index of 2022 has just come out! The index ranks countries on their level of organized criminal activity. Venezuela tops the list. Here&#8217;s the list of the top twenty.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Venezuela</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="533" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/800wm.jpg" alt="Global Crime Index 2022 " class="wp-image-9960" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/800wm.jpg 800w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/800wm-300x200.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/800wm-768x512.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<p>Venezuela has ranked first for many years now. The country&#8217;s ever-rising crime rates have been linked to the drug cartels and police working together, which is illegal in Venezuela by law. That being said, it&#8217;s not as if there is a police force that can do anything about it. Moreover, there&#8217;s been a big push towards privatizing the police forces, which led to many cooperating with cartels.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Papua New Guinea</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Frequentis-Papua-New-Guinea-scaled-1-1024x576.jpg" alt="Global Crime Index 2022 " class="wp-image-9961" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Frequentis-Papua-New-Guinea-scaled-1-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Frequentis-Papua-New-Guinea-scaled-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Frequentis-Papua-New-Guinea-scaled-1-768x432.jpg 768w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Frequentis-Papua-New-Guinea-scaled-1-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Frequentis-Papua-New-Guinea-scaled-1-2048x1152.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Papua New Guinea has ranked second on the list for years. Violence, domestic violence, and attacks by armed groups are common in Papua New Guinea. The country&#8217;s police force is understaffed, undertrained, and underfunded to respond adequately to these crimes. Also, the crimes are committed in rural areas where it is hard for the police to get there.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Afghanistan</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="612" height="407" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-183330117-612x612-1.jpg" alt="Global Crime Index 2022 " class="wp-image-9962" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-183330117-612x612-1.jpg 612w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-183330117-612x612-1-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 612px) 100vw, 612px" /></figure>

<p>Afghanistan has been moving up the list and has ranked 3rd since last year. This country is one of the most dangerous countries in the world for women, who risk violence whenever they leave their homes. Also, parts of Afghanistan essentially function as autonomous states where criminals can operate without fear of prosecution.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">South Africa</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/c42pmn-e1618565867813-1-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-9963" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/c42pmn-e1618565867813-1-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/c42pmn-e1618565867813-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/c42pmn-e1618565867813-1-768x432.jpg 768w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/c42pmn-e1618565867813-1-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/c42pmn-e1618565867813-1-2048x1152.jpg 2048w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>South Africa has been moving up the list and is in 4th place this year. South Africa usually ranks high on lists like this because of its incredibly high violent crime rate. Cases of rape, assault, and robbery are all extremely common there. In fact, people have been leaving the country in droves because of it.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Honduras</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="612" height="408" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1219020386-612x612-1.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-9964" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1219020386-612x612-1.jpg 612w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1219020386-612x612-1-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 612px) 100vw, 612px" /></figure>

<p>Honduras has ranked 5th for a few years now. There isn&#8217;t a ton of detail on it because it&#8217;s such a small country, but we do know that there&#8217;s not really any drug trade to speak of, so the crime must be coming from something else. It could be gangs, police corruption, or something else.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Trinidad and Tobago</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="612" height="408" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-465302010-612x612-1.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-9967" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-465302010-612x612-1.jpg 612w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-465302010-612x612-1-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 612px) 100vw, 612px" /></figure>

<p>Trinidad And Tobago have ranked 6th for the last two years, but this year it&#8217;s forming a three-way tie with Jamaica and El Salvador. It usually ranks high on lists like this thanks to violence associated with organized crime, corruption among authorities, and gang activity. Besides, it&#8217;s one of the highest &#8220;failed state&#8221; rankings in the world, which tells you something.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Guyana</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="960" height="640" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/76d52c6f8ba26130c8d57aadc2879a03.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-9968" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/76d52c6f8ba26130c8d57aadc2879a03.jpg 960w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/76d52c6f8ba26130c8d57aadc2879a03-300x200.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/76d52c6f8ba26130c8d57aadc2879a03-768x512.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /></figure>

<p>Guyana has always ranked 7th, and it&#8217;s not hard to see why. The country is huge, but there are very few police officers to cover it. In fact, Guyana only has one police officer for every 400 people. So, if you have a population of around 800,000, that would be about 32 officers total. It&#8217;s not hard to see why crime is out of control.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">El Salvador</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="640" height="480" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Conversatorio-El-Salvador.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-9970" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Conversatorio-El-Salvador.jpg 640w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Conversatorio-El-Salvador-300x225.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></figure>

<p>El Salvador has been tied with Trinidad and Tobago for years. In 2016, El Salvador was ranked as having the most murders per capita globally, but it seems to have subsided a bit since then. It is still extremely high, though. Gangs are violent, powerful, and active all across El Salvador.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Jamaica</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="538" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/view-port-antonio-jamaica-1024x538.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-9972" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/view-port-antonio-jamaica-1024x538.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/view-port-antonio-jamaica-300x158.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/view-port-antonio-jamaica-768x403.jpg 768w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/view-port-antonio-jamaica.jpg 1200w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Jamaica is a great vacation spot. That being said, it&#8217;s also known for gangs and drug cartels. In fact, Jamaica has the highest murder rate in the world outside of a war zone. In addition to that, poverty rates are high, as well as unemployment rates. So, there&#8217;s even more crime from those who don&#8217;t have anything to lose.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Syria</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="690" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/3519951025_412a60c1b4_b.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-9974" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/3519951025_412a60c1b4_b.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/3519951025_412a60c1b4_b-300x202.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/3519951025_412a60c1b4_b-768x518.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Syria is a very dangerous place. First off, it&#8217;s got gangs and terrorist groups running all over the country. Second, the police force has been decimated by war, which means they can&#8217;t do their job of keeping people safe properly. And third, there isn&#8217;t much in the way of economic opportunities for young men there.</p>

<p>Consequently, they join gangs and terrorist groups to try to make money. Jamaica has the highest murder rate in the world outside of a war zone. Gangs are violent, powerful, and active all across Jamaica.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Peru</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="697" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/aerial-view-of-la-punta-district-lima-peru-AAEF05560-1024x697.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-9975" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/aerial-view-of-la-punta-district-lima-peru-AAEF05560-1024x697.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/aerial-view-of-la-punta-district-lima-peru-AAEF05560-300x204.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/aerial-view-of-la-punta-district-lima-peru-AAEF05560-768x522.jpg 768w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/aerial-view-of-la-punta-district-lima-peru-AAEF05560.jpg 1232w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Peru has always ranked 11th on this list. Peru is one of the most dangerous places in the world today for women who risk violence whenever they leave their homes. The country also doesn&#8217;t have much of an economy, so there isn&#8217;t much opportunity to get out of poverty. So, people turn to crime and drug cartels.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Brazil</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="800" height="533" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Rio-de-Janeiro_energy-RZD.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-9976" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Rio-de-Janeiro_energy-RZD.jpg 800w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Rio-de-Janeiro_energy-RZD-300x200.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Rio-de-Janeiro_energy-RZD-768x512.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<p>Brazil is one of the most dangerous places in the world to be a woman. There was even an app called &#8220;Women Safety Flash&#8221; that tells women how to get home safely from different areas. Brazil has high murder rates and violent crime rates overall, so it&#8217;s not hard to see why this country ranks so high on lists like this.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Cameroon</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="768" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/47498649581_d6f60715b1_b.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-9979" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/47498649581_d6f60715b1_b.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/47498649581_d6f60715b1_b-300x225.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/47498649581_d6f60715b1_b-768x576.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Cameroon has ranked 13th for two years now. It&#8217;s also tied with Mexico, which is surprising considering its size. Cameroon was supposed to be one of the emerging economies, but it hasn&#8217;t really happened yet. The reason may be because there are terrorist groups throughout the country like Boko Haram and criminal gangs like the &#8220;Pique Boys.&#8221;</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Angola</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="612" height="408" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1145108658-612x612-1.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-9981" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1145108658-612x612-1.jpg 612w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1145108658-612x612-1-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 612px) 100vw, 612px" /></figure>

<p>Angola has ranked 14th for three years now. It&#8217;s got the 10th highest murder rate globally, and that doesn&#8217;t appear to be changing either. There are high crime rates throughout the country, which means it&#8217;s very dangerous for people there who can&#8217;t afford private security like you might find here in America.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Namibia</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="612" height="408" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1137749821-612x612-1.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-9982" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1137749821-612x612-1.jpg 612w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1137749821-612x612-1-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 612px) 100vw, 612px" /></figure>

<p>Namibia has ranked 15th for the last three years as well. Like Angola, Namibia has one of the highest murder rates in the world. It also doesn&#8217;t help that there&#8217;s barely any police presence there either. Moreover, the country has a high poverty rate, which may be one of the reasons why crime is so bad there.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Argentina</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="674" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/jacaranda-trees-along-avenue-6-de-julio-buenos-aires-argentina-south-america-RHPLF16704-1024x674.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-9991" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/jacaranda-trees-along-avenue-6-de-julio-buenos-aires-argentina-south-america-RHPLF16704-1024x674.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/jacaranda-trees-along-avenue-6-de-julio-buenos-aires-argentina-south-america-RHPLF16704-300x197.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/jacaranda-trees-along-avenue-6-de-julio-buenos-aires-argentina-south-america-RHPLF16704-768x506.jpg 768w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/jacaranda-trees-along-avenue-6-de-julio-buenos-aires-argentina-south-america-RHPLF16704.jpg 1232w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Argentina is known for being one of the most dangerous countries in Latin America. This may be because it has very high crime rates, especially for robberies and homicides. Also, the economy in Argentina isn&#8217;t in great shape either. It doesn&#8217;t help that there are terrorist groups like Hezbollah active throughout this country.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Nigeria</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1000" height="667" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/jacaranda-trees-along-avenue-6-de-julio-buenos-aires-argentina-south-america-RHPLF16704-1.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-9997" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/jacaranda-trees-along-avenue-6-de-julio-buenos-aires-argentina-south-america-RHPLF16704-1.jpg 1000w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/jacaranda-trees-along-avenue-6-de-julio-buenos-aires-argentina-south-america-RHPLF16704-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/jacaranda-trees-along-avenue-6-de-julio-buenos-aires-argentina-south-america-RHPLF16704-1-768x512.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></figure>

<p>Nigeria has ranked 17th for the last three years. Like Angola, Nigeria is another African country with a high murder rate. It also doesn&#8217;t help that Boko Haram is active throughout this country. In fact, Nigeria has one of the highest rates of terrorism in the world today. So, that should tell you something about how dangerous this country is overall.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Bangladesh</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="626" height="470" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/high-angle-view-dhaka-city-residential-financial-buildings-sunny-day_260672-9357.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-9999" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/high-angle-view-dhaka-city-residential-financial-buildings-sunny-day_260672-9357.jpg 626w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/high-angle-view-dhaka-city-residential-financial-buildings-sunny-day_260672-9357-300x225.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 626px) 100vw, 626px" /></figure>

<p>Bangladesh has ranked 18th for three years in a row. It&#8217;s also one of the most densely populated countries in the world too, which makes it even more dangerous considering how many people are packed into such a small area.</p>

<p>There are high rates of violence, including acid attacks against women, throughout this country. And terrorist groups like Ansarullah Bangla Team and Jama&#8217;atul Mujahideen Bangladesh are also active there.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Mozambique</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="612" height="459" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1162949069-612x612-1.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-10000" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1162949069-612x612-1.jpg 612w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1162949069-612x612-1-300x225.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 612px) 100vw, 612px" /></figure>

<p>Mozambique has ranked 19th for the last three years. This country doesn&#8217;t have much of an economy either, and there&#8217;s a lot of poverty throughout this country. In fact, Mozambique is one of the poorest countries in Africa overall. There are high rates of robberies and thefts and violence against women here. This country is home to some terrorist groups as well, including al-Shabaab.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Bahamas</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="612" height="437" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1167614916-612x612-1.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-10002" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1167614916-612x612-1.jpg 612w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1167614916-612x612-1-300x214.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 612px) 100vw, 612px" /></figure>

<p>The <a href="https://expats.adamfayed.com/living-in-bahamas-expat-guide/" target="_blank" data-type="post" data-id="4454" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bahamas</a> has ranked 20th for two years now. It also doesn&#8217;t help that this country has a high rate of sexual violence as well as other safety concerns for women throughout the country as well. The Bahamas is one of the more expensive countries in the Caribbean, so there aren&#8217;t many opportunities there either for people who want to try and make a decent living.</p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading"></h4>

<p>Global Crime Index 2022 part 2 &#8211; Part one is <a href="https://expats.adamfayed.com/global-crime-index-2022-part-1---overview-of-crime-index/" data-type="URL" data-id="https://expats.adamfayed.com/global-crime-index-2022-part-1---overview-of-crime-index/">here</a>.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Factors That Could Reduce the Global Crime Index</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="612" height="344" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1167452662-612x612-1.jpg" alt="Global Crime Index 2022 part 2" class="wp-image-10006" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1167452662-612x612-1.jpg 612w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1167452662-612x612-1-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 612px) 100vw, 612px" /></figure>

<p>The Global Crime Index measures and monitors the magnitude, seriousness, context, location, frequency, persistence, and trends of different types of crime across different countries worldwide. It is an ideal measure to analyze crime levels in any country at regional or national levels.</p>

<p>However, it cannot monitor changes in significant policy reforms or interventions that may have an important impact on crime levels in any country. It is believed that seven factors could reduce the global Crime Index 2022. They include the following.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; More International Collaboration</h3>

<p>Cybercrime is one of the crimes that has grown the most in recent years, and it&#8217;s also very hard to investigate because it can be perpetrated from anywhere in the world. With no borders on cyber-space, it becomes crucial for law enforcement to cooperate more than ever, especially since many cybercriminals are known for attacking countries on different continents simultaneously.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Forensic Data Sharing</h3>

<p>Similarly, forensic evidence is also hard to obtain when it comes to cyber-crime since most of the evidence is stored on computers or IT systems that can be anywhere in the world. The same goes for digital forensics.</p>

<p>It is hard to obtain the digital evidence needed for cyber-crime investigation when the crime is perpetrated in a different country. The only way to solve these challenges is through international collaboration, so forensic data sharing becomes important for international investigations.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; More Funding Towards Law Enforcement</h3>

<p>With budget cuts becoming more and more common worldwide, it&#8217;s important to remember that many important areas of government spending can be cut to save on costs.</p>

<p>Law enforcement is one of the most important tasks for any country&#8217;s government, so it should not suffer budget cuts. With more funding towards law enforcement agencies, they will have more resources at their disposal and thus investigate crimes better than before.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="612" height="377" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1305132694-612x612-1.jpg" alt="Global Crime Index 2022 part 2" class="wp-image-10008" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1305132694-612x612-1.jpg 612w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1305132694-612x612-1-300x185.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 612px) 100vw, 612px" /></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">4.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Open Data for Citizens</h3>

<p>The age of open data is upon us, and it&#8217;s only a matter of time before government agencies start sharing their data online with the general public. Right now, most countries&#8217; police departments are very secretive about their investigation methods and tactics, which makes it harder to predict future crime trends.</p>

<p>When this information starts being shared openly, researchers will be able to extrapolate crime trends with more accuracy, thus making it easier for law enforcement agencies to prevent crimes from happening in the first place.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">5.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; A Better Educated Police Force</h3>

<p>Also, a better-educated police force will surely help reduce crime rates worldwide. Constantly learning new skills and techniques is something most people working on a regular 9-5 job cannot do, but a police officer should have no problem doing this.</p>

<p>With a better-educated police force that&#8217;s well versed in new technologies and techniques, criminals will find it a lot harder to commit crimes which will lead to lower crime rates in the future.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/China01_Preview.jpg" alt="Global Crime Index 2022 part 2" class="wp-image-10009" width="854" height="563" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/China01_Preview.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/China01_Preview-300x198.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/China01_Preview-768x507.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 854px) 100vw, 854px" /></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">6.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; More Important Data Being Made Public</h3>

<p>Currently, a lot of the crime data collected by governments agencies is not shared with the general public due to privacy concerns.</p>

<p>This makes it harder for researchers and people outside of government to analyze the data, which slows down their decision-making process about what approach to combat crime. If more important data were shared with the public, there would be a lot more room for creativity and different ideas to help reduce crime rates in the future.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">7.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; More Data Sharing Between Countries</h3>

<p>Finally, it&#8217;s currently very difficult to make international connections when investigating cybercrimes and digital forensics is also hard due to lack of information sharing. With crime rates going up, it&#8217;s important to remember that while national borders have been around for a while now, the age of the internet has changed everything drastically.</p>

<p>That being said, countries&#8217; law enforcement agencies need to share a lot more information to improve their chances of success when investigating cybercrimes and digital forensics.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Factors That Contributed To an Increase in Global Crime</h2>

<p>Criminologists have long speculated the causes of crime. These speculations have led to the creation of theories. One example of a criminology theory is strain theory, which postulates that crime occurs when society deprives an individual or group of the means to achieve their goals. They commit illegal acts as a result.</p>

<p>This theory has been used to try and explain certain types of crime, such as drug dealing and burglary. What is certain, however, is that crime has been increasing worldwide. Understanding the causes of this increase in global crime will focus on this article. The following are seven factors that contribute to an increase in global crime.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="612" height="344" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1171503192-612x612-1.jpg" alt="Global Crime Index 2022 part 2" class="wp-image-10010" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1171503192-612x612-1.jpg 612w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1171503192-612x612-1-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 612px) 100vw, 612px" /></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Human Trafficking and Drug Trafficking</h3>

<p>Human trafficking is the illegal transportation of people for selling, which has increased to 4 million worldwide. The total revenue generated globally by human trafficking is estimated at around $150 billion per year.</p>

<p>Additionally, 70% of human trafficking victims are women or girls, half of them are underage. Similarly, drug trafficking has increased, with more than 183 million people using drugs worldwide. The total revenue of drug trafficking is estimated to be around $300 billion per year.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Advance in Technology</h3>

<p>Advances in technology have facilitated the crime rate increase globally. For example, advances in communication technology like the Internet and SMS make human trafficking easier because traffickers can exploit victims easier.</p>

<p>Furthermore, weapons and ammunition can be easily sourced from the internet. Additionally, new technology like 3-D printers allows people to build guns using plastic at home. It has increased the crime rate globally because it has become more accessible and affordable for anyone.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">The proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons</h3>

<p>There are estimated to be 875 million firearms globally, which is enough for every 12 people. This also increases crime rates because criminals can easily get their hands on guns. For example, different cartels in Mexico have amassed thousands of deadly weapons to produce their ammunition.</p>

<p>Furthermore, loose firearms are not being kept secure by people, so children can also get hold of them. Similarly, increased light weapons use has increased crime rates globally because they are small and easily concealed.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Male Population Distribution</h3>

<p>The male population distribution globally has a large portion of the total male population in the 15-29 age groups. This is because young men are typically more likely to commit crimes than older people.</p>

<p>In addition, these individuals may be easily influenced by crime syndicates and gangs who offer them money and other benefits in exchange for joining. Furthermore, this demographic is more likely to have a higher mortality rate, leading to a more hazardous lifestyle.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Drop-In Religion</h3>

<p>The global population of religious individuals has declined by 9%, with rates ranging from 15% in Germany to 65% in the Philippines. For example, most researchers have reported that religion promotes altruistic behavior and discourages criminal conduct.</p>

<p>Additionally, religion has been proposed as a buffer against the negative effects of unemployment and other criminogenic situations. The drop in religion rate globally leads to an increase in crimes because fewer people believe that their actions will be judged by God or another higher power.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Low GDP Per Capita</h3>

<p>GDP per capita is one of the most significant factors contributing to crime rates. The GDP per capita is the average amount of money earned by an individual in a year, divided by his population. If this number is low, there are fewer job opportunities for people because businesses are not making enough profit.</p>

<p>Furthermore, the lack of employment opportunities has increased crime rates globally because it has increased unemployment and made people more desperate for money. For example, the GDP per capita in Mexico is $16,000, while that of Canada is $50,000.</p>

<p>This demonstrates that there are more opportunities for employment in Canada than in Mexico, which makes people less likely to commit crimes out of desperation.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Human Rights and Fair Justice System</h3>

<p>Some reports suggested weak human rights and a lack of a fair justice system contributed to increasing crime rates globally. For example, some countries do not have a minimum wage law, which means there is no limit on how much money an organization can pay its employees.</p>

<p>Additionally, it has been argued that certain police forces in developing countries resort to vigilantism and commit <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_rights" target="_blank" data-type="URL" data-id="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_rights" rel="noreferrer noopener">human rights</a> abuses to combat increasing crime rates.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="626" height="373" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/human-rights-day-poster-with-hands-up-silhouette-illustration-design_18591-70338.webp" alt="" class="wp-image-10014" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/human-rights-day-poster-with-hands-up-silhouette-illustration-design_18591-70338.webp 626w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/human-rights-day-poster-with-hands-up-silhouette-illustration-design_18591-70338-300x179.webp 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 626px) 100vw, 626px" /></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Conclusion</h3>

<p><a></a>Crime is one of the most pressing issues in many third-world countries, with the majority of its residents living below the poverty line. Criminals commonly use corruption and bribery as they attempt to stay ahead of those trying to stop them. We hope things change and the rate reduces in the long run.</p>

<p>The Caribbean is a popular tourist destination. This location has been home to expats from all around the world looking for a new life in a place that offers an easy-going atmosphere and friendly people.</p>

<p>Many expats who live in this area have retired to afford a better quality of life on their retirement savings. Others have come to make money to take home with them or continue living in this tropical paradise. The best Caribbean countries for expats are;</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="1-the-bahamas">1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The Bahamas</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="930" height="620" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/things-to-do-in-nassau-bahamas-cabbage-beach.jpg" alt="Best Cities For Expats In The Caribbean" class="wp-image-8734" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/things-to-do-in-nassau-bahamas-cabbage-beach.jpg 930w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/things-to-do-in-nassau-bahamas-cabbage-beach-300x200.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/things-to-do-in-nassau-bahamas-cabbage-beach-768x512.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 930px) 100vw, 930px" /></figure>

<p>Known as a major tourism destination, the Bahamas is ideal for expats looking to enjoy stunning beaches while relaxing in a casual, informal atmosphere. The Bahamas is also one of the safest islands in the Caribbean, with a minimal crime rate.</p>

<p>This makes it ideal for expats looking to settle down in an exciting new environment without worrying about their safety or possessions. While locals widely speak English on most of the islands, there are a number of dialects throughout the group.</p>

<p>This makes it a good idea to learn some basic Bahamian phrases to help break the ice with locals and strengthen ties with your new community as quickly as possible.</p>

<p>The Bahamas offer lower taxes than most countries, making this is an attractive option for retirees looking to live comfortably without worrying about paying high taxes.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="2-the-cayman-islands">2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The Cayman Islands</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/5361854957_4517051a41_b.jpg" alt="Best Cities For Expats In The Caribbean" class="wp-image-8735" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/5361854957_4517051a41_b.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/5361854957_4517051a41_b-300x200.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/5361854957_4517051a41_b-768x512.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Situated alongside Jamaica and Cuba, the Cayman Islands are an exotic island with a British influence. This makes it easy for expats to settle in since they&#8217;ll feel right at home as soon as they arrive.</p>

<p>The English dialect of the population is also another bonus for those who enjoy speaking more than one language fluently. The Caymans are also home to some of the best golf courses in the Caribbean, which has made it a popular destination for retirees looking to enjoy their golden years on well-maintained, expansive greens.</p>

<p>However, because the country is so small and lacks much topographical variety, there are few exciting options for nightlife and activities. If you&#8217;re looking for a quiet island where you can relax and enjoy the simpler things in life, this may be the perfect destination for you.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="3-puerto-rico">3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Puerto Rico</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="680" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/porto-rico_897-1024x680.jpg" alt="Best Cities For Expats In The Caribbean" class="wp-image-8736" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/porto-rico_897-1024x680.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/porto-rico_897-300x199.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/porto-rico_897-768x510.jpg 768w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/porto-rico_897.jpg 1257w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Puerto Rico is the most populated of the Caribbean islands, making it ideal for expats interested in having plenty of opportunities to make friends and start a community around them. The population is very diverse, with many locals from India, China, the Dominican Republic, and Europe.</p>

<p>The local currency is the Puerto Rican dollar, making it difficult for expats to purchase luxury goods at first. This is easily remedied by shopping online or picking up banknotes before you arrive.</p>

<p>Puerto Rican cuisine is known for its influence worldwide, with Chinese, Italian, and Spanish dishes making appearances on almost every menu. If you&#8217;re looking for a new way to experience familiar foods, this is an exciting option.</p>

<p>One downside of Puerto Rico is that it isn&#8217;t as heavily regulated as other Caribbean islands regarding property and inheritance taxes. This can make it slightly more difficult for expats to purchase a new property or settle down with someone who already owns one.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="4-aruba">4.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Aruba</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Aruba-Tightens-Entry-Requirements-For-Both-The-U.S.-And-Canada-Over-Omicron-Concerns-1-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8737" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Aruba-Tightens-Entry-Requirements-For-Both-The-U.S.-And-Canada-Over-Omicron-Concerns-1-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Aruba-Tightens-Entry-Requirements-For-Both-The-U.S.-And-Canada-Over-Omicron-Concerns-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Aruba-Tightens-Entry-Requirements-For-Both-The-U.S.-And-Canada-Over-Omicron-Concerns-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Aruba-Tightens-Entry-Requirements-For-Both-The-U.S.-And-Canada-Over-Omicron-Concerns-1.jpg 1200w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption> </figcaption></figure>

<p>Aruba is another popular Caribbean destination that offers plenty of excitement while maintaining a relaxed, casual atmosphere. While it&#8217;s known for its white sands and bright blue waters, the island is also home to some of the best restaurants in the Caribbean.</p>

<p>If you enjoy fine dining, this is an ideal destination for expats who want to experience a new way of enjoying traditional foods while still maintaining a connection with their culture and roots. Like most other islands in the Caribbean, shops are often closed on Sundays.</p>

<p>This can make it difficult for expats who enjoy heading to the mall on the weekends, but most shops and restaurants are open during regular business hours Monday through Saturday.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="5-the-british-virgin-islands">5.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The British Virgin Islands</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="960" height="539" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Sea-Caribbean-British-Virgin-Islands-Water-Tortola-2592716.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8739" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Sea-Caribbean-British-Virgin-Islands-Water-Tortola-2592716.jpg 960w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Sea-Caribbean-British-Virgin-Islands-Water-Tortola-2592716-300x168.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Sea-Caribbean-British-Virgin-Islands-Water-Tortola-2592716-768x431.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /></figure>

<p>Located near Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, The British Virgin Islands offer a little bit of everything: beautiful sand beaches, mild weather, and a relaxed, casual atmosphere. The country is known for its rich history and unique culture, making it easy for expats to feel right at home in this tight-knit community.</p>

<p>However, because the island is so small, there aren&#8217;t many jobs available beyond tourism unless you&#8217;re willing to commute off the island to find work. If you&#8217;re looking for a relaxing Caribbean destination where you can enjoy the simple things in life, this may be your perfect match.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="6-the-grenadines">6.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The Grenadines</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/st-vincent-and-the-grenadines-3708176_1280-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8740" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/st-vincent-and-the-grenadines-3708176_1280-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/st-vincent-and-the-grenadines-3708176_1280-300x200.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/st-vincent-and-the-grenadines-3708176_1280-768x512.jpg 768w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/st-vincent-and-the-grenadines-3708176_1280.jpg 1280w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Located in the southernmost part of the Windward Islands, The Grenadines offer plenty of beachfront properties and picturesque views that make it easy to relax and enjoy life. However, because the country comprises more than 30 different islands, there are fewer shops and restaurants to visit on most days.</p>

<p>Fortunately, this makes it easy to escape to another island if you feel overwhelmed or want some excitement. While The Grenadines receive plenty of precipitation throughout the year, the summer months are known for dry weather. This makes it easy to enjoy the beaches and outdoor activities throughout most of the year while still enjoying a bit of rain during your favorite times of the year.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="7-st-lucia">7.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; St. Lucia</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="700" height="468" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/St-Lucia.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8741" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/St-Lucia.jpg 700w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/St-Lucia-300x201.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /></figure>

<p>St. Lucia is known for its rich history and unique culture, making it an exciting destination for expats interested in learning more about the island&#8217;s past. The country is home to some of the best luxury resorts in the Caribbean, but there are also plenty of opportunities for budget travelers to explore just as much of St. Lucia as they would like.</p>

<p>As one of the most developed islands in the Caribbean, St. Lucia also offers plenty of jobs outside of tourism for expats who are willing to work hard for their money. This is perfect if you&#8217;re looking forward to living a more active life or starting your own business that can grow into something big over time.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="8-roseau-dominica">8.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Roseau, Dominica</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="682" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/dominica-4645328_1280-1024x682.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8742" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/dominica-4645328_1280-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/dominica-4645328_1280-300x200.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/dominica-4645328_1280-768x512.jpg 768w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/dominica-4645328_1280.jpg 1280w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>One of the most popular expat destinations in the Caribbean, this city is pleasantly temperate and has rich colonial history. Expats love its colorful houses and narrow streets, as well as its proximity to some of the best beaches on the island.</p>

<p>There aren&#8217;t many jobs here for those who want to work in finance or tourism, but it&#8217;s possible to work remotely with most employers. Getting around is easy thanks to the reliable bus service, and people are friendly, making this a great place for retirees.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="9-barbados">9.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Barbados</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="685" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/6735320631_90bf159b30_b.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8743" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/6735320631_90bf159b30_b.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/6735320631_90bf159b30_b-300x201.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/6735320631_90bf159b30_b-768x514.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>When deciding which island would be the best choice for expats, Barbados is an ideal option. The country offers beautiful beaches, great weather and plenty of opportunities to enjoy life. There are also several English-speaking communities throughout Barbados which makes it easy for expats to feel at home in this laidback tropical destination.</p>

<p>Furthermore, there are plenty of jobs available for expats looking to start a career in Barbados. This makes it perfect for professionals who are looking for a relaxed environment but also want the ability to make an honest living.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="10-trinidad-and-tobago">10. Trinidad and Tobago</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/14581922877_8dabf08955_b.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8744" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/14581922877_8dabf08955_b.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/14581922877_8dabf08955_b-300x200.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/14581922877_8dabf08955_b-768x512.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Located just off the northern coast of Venezuela, Trinidad plays home to some of the best cuisines in the Caribbean. The country is filled with friendly locals that are happy to help expats who are looking for assistance settling into their new community.</p>

<p>As one of the most developed islands in the Caribbean, there are plenty of career options for expats interested in starting their own business. There are also plenty of online resources to help new residents settle into Trinidad and Tobago, including language learning apps that can help you learn Spanish before your trip.</p>

<p>If you&#8217;re considering relocating to the Caribbean, there is no shortage of islands that offer everything from beautiful beaches to thrilling nightlife. While each island offers something unique, there are a few commonalities that most expats will enjoy.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="best-tourist-attractions-in-the-caribbean">Best Tourist Attractions in the Caribbean</h2>

<p>The Caribbean is a region that consists of the Caribbean Sea, its islands (some surrounded by the sea and some bordering it), and the surrounding coasts. The region is southeast of the Gulf of Mexico and North America, east of Central America, and north of South America.</p>

<p>The following places have been selected because they are rich in history, nature, deep culture and suitable for expats to enjoy their holidays.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="rainforest-adventures">Rainforest Adventures</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/shutterstock_776699845-1024x683-1.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8745" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/shutterstock_776699845-1024x683-1.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/shutterstock_776699845-1024x683-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/shutterstock_776699845-1024x683-1-768x512.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>No other place in the Caribbean can beat a visit to this theme park. Visitors will have the chance to see and interact with wildlife up close, travel on an aerial tramway, or take a ride on a zip line.</p>

<p>The number of activities available at Rainforest Adventures allows visitors to experience the natural habitat of several birds, mammals, and reptiles. Several shows are available throughout the day, including a bird show and a train show.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="panther-adventure-tours">Panther Adventure Tours</h3>

<p>Panther Adventure Tours is an off-road tour company that allows visitors to drive their vehicles through the western and central regions of Jamaica.
