<p>Where Can Programmers Find Jobs Overseas part 2 &#8211; Part one is <a href="https://expats.adamfayed.com/where-can-programmers-find-jobs-overseas-part-1---top-10-programming-jobs/" data-type="URL" data-id="https://expats.adamfayed.com/where-can-programmers-find-jobs-overseas-part-1---top-10-programming-jobs/">here</a>.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Best 10 Places Where Programmers Can Find Jobs</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="724" height="483" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/expat-brit_0.jpg" alt="Where Can Programmers Find Jobs Overseas part 2" class="wp-image-9870" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/expat-brit_0.jpg 724w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/expat-brit_0-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 724px) 100vw, 724px" /></figure>

<p>Whether you&#8217;re a front-end web developer, back-end web developer, or a full-stack software engineer, if you&#8217;re looking for a job as a programmer, then you know that it can be tricky.</p>

<p>Not because programming is difficult, but because the industry is so huge and ever-growing that it&#8217;s hard to keep track of what opportunities are out there. As a programmer myself, I know how hard it can be to find the best jobs for programmers.</p>

<p>Not only that, but without knowing where to look, it&#8217;s easy to miss out on some great opportunities that don&#8217;t get posted anywhere near as much as they should be. And now that you&#8217;re searching online, you&#8217;ve probably noticed that the internet is pretty much completely covered in job postings.</p>

<p>That&#8217;s why I&#8217;ve decided to make a list of my 10 favorite places online where programmers can find jobs. These 10 places should make it a little easier for programmers to find some really great opportunities and get their foot in the door.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; LinkedIn</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="468" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/bliv-fundet-online-ballisager-scaled-1-1024x468.jpg" alt="Where Can Programmers Find Jobs Overseas part 2" class="wp-image-9871" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/bliv-fundet-online-ballisager-scaled-1-1024x468.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/bliv-fundet-online-ballisager-scaled-1-300x137.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/bliv-fundet-online-ballisager-scaled-1-768x351.jpg 768w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/bliv-fundet-online-ballisager-scaled-1.jpg 1300w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>LinkedIn is an amazing resource for programmers because it allows you not only to see what current employees at companies are doing but connections that exist between people with similar skill sets can connect. If you aren&#8217;t already connected with your friends and colleagues, find them on LinkedIn and request a connection.</p>

<p>LinkedIn is also great because it allows companies to post jobs, making it easy for programmers to see what opportunities are available at any given time. I would definitely recommend looking through the &#8220;Jobs&#8221; section from time to time on LinkedIn to see if anything looks promising.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Monster</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img decoding="async" width="1000" height="563" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/1640199290_shutterstock_1112050898-1.jpg" alt="Where Can Programmers Find Jobs Overseas part 2" class="wp-image-9872" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/1640199290_shutterstock_1112050898-1.jpg 1000w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/1640199290_shutterstock_1112050898-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/1640199290_shutterstock_1112050898-1-768x432.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></figure>

<p>Monster is a site that I not only use regularly but I also recommend frequently to friends who are looking for jobs as programmers. In my opinion, Monster does a fantastic job of not only aggregating the most amounts of jobs from across the web onto their sites but also making it incredibly easy to apply for those jobs.</p>

<p>I like monster not only because the site is very user-friendly, but they also do a great job of filtering out bad opportunities that might be scams, making it much easier for you to find legitimate jobs as a programmer.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Stack Overflow</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/shutterstock_1040380372-1024x683.jpg" alt="Where Can Programmers Find Jobs Overseas part 2" class="wp-image-9873" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/shutterstock_1040380372-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/shutterstock_1040380372-300x200.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/shutterstock_1040380372-768x512.jpg 768w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/shutterstock_1040380372.jpg 1200w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Stack overflow&#8217;s primary function is to act as a Q&amp;A site for programmers, but they also have job postings. The reason I like Stack Overflow is because of the quality control that exists on their site. Applicants are encouraged to ask questions about job opportunities and talk with others about their experiences.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">4.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; GitHub</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1000" height="750" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/shutterstock_1872947134-1.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-9874" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/shutterstock_1872947134-1.jpg 1000w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/shutterstock_1872947134-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/shutterstock_1872947134-1-768x576.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></figure>

<p>GitHub is primarily known as a platform where programmers can share and collaborate on code that they are working on, but it also has a jobs section. One thing I like about GitHub is the fact that their job postings not only include opportunities for full-stack web engineers, but they also allow you to search specifically for iOS or Android developers as well.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">5.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; AngelList</h3>

<p>AngelList allows programmers to not only keep up to date with what&#8217;s going on in the tech world, but it also provides a place where investors can network with startups. Also, AngelList allows job seekers to apply for startup jobs online directly through their site, streamlining the process so that both applicants and employers can get exactly what they need from one another.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">6.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Craigslist</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="930" height="500" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Craigslist-logotyp-1.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-9875" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Craigslist-logotyp-1.jpg 930w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Craigslist-logotyp-1-300x161.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Craigslist-logotyp-1-768x413.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 930px) 100vw, 930px" /></figure>

<p>Craigslist is actually something that I recommend my friends use when they are trying to find a job as a programmer. This site is very similar in format to Monster, but it&#8217;s definitely worth mentioning again because of the sheer volume of opportunities that are available on this site. If you aren&#8217;t already using Craigslist for job hunting, then give it a shot and see how you like it.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">7.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Dice</h3>

<p><a href="https://www.dice.com/" target="_blank" data-type="URL" data-id="https://www.dice.com/" rel="noreferrer noopener">Dice</a> is an online platform where programmers can find not only the most amounts of technical jobs but also have a salary guide and interview questions section. In my opinion, Dice does a great job at aggregating the largest number of opportunities for programmers in one place, making it easy to focus on what&#8217;s important when you&#8217;re looking for a new opportunity.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">8.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; PeoplePerHour</h3>

<p>When I&#8217;m looking for a new job as a programmer, I like to use PeoplePerHour because they provide not only salary data on numerous opportunities but also give me the option of signing up directly through their site. This saves me time that might be wasted sending my resume out into cyberspace, but it gives employers an easier way to get in touch with me.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">9.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Fiverr</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="768" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Fiverr.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-9876" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Fiverr.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Fiverr-300x225.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Fiverr-768x576.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Fiverr is a great resource if you&#8217;re looking for temporary work or programming gigs outside of the United States. Many gigs available on this site pay only $5-$10, which might seem low at first, but it&#8217;s definitely an opportunity worth considering if you&#8217;re strapped for cash.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">10. Upwork</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="639" height="360" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/360_F_438977457_bIroiOqaXWNZtavpac2t3BGYyCnfBhpd.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-9877" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/360_F_438977457_bIroiOqaXWNZtavpac2t3BGYyCnfBhpd.jpg 639w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/360_F_438977457_bIroiOqaXWNZtavpac2t3BGYyCnfBhpd-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 639px) 100vw, 639px" /></figure>

<p>Upwork is a fantastic site that I use whenever I don&#8217;t have the time to seek my opportunities. This site aggregates not only all of the available programming jobs but also includes many other freelance opportunities. If you need something more temporary than what Fiverr provides, then Upwork is definitely where I would recommend it.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">5 Countries Where Programmers Can Find Jobs</h2>

<p>In the current era of corporate globalization, it may be difficult for a programmer to find work in their own country. With outsourcing and offshoring taking over the programming market, many companies are looking for programmers from other countries to complete projects.</p>

<p>In some cases, not only will you get paid to travel around the world, but you&#8217;ll also have a chance to experience different cultures and languages. Here are five countries where programmers can find jobs!</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">China &#8211; for English speakers</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="612" height="404" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1179978682-612x612-1.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-9878" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1179978682-612x612-1.jpg 612w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1179978682-612x612-1-300x198.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 612px) 100vw, 612px" /></figure>

<p>Many software companies in the United States and Europe outsource their programming jobs to China. If you can speak English well enough to read, write, and communicate with your Chinese co-workers, you should be able to find a job in China as a programmer.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Poland &#8211; for English speakers</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="612" height="408" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1126873715-612x612-1.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-9879" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1126873715-612x612-1.jpg 612w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/istockphoto-1126873715-612x612-1-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 612px) 100vw, 612px" /></figure>

<p>Since many companies outsource their programming jobs to Poland, an English speaker should not have a problem finding work there as a programmer. Also, there are many opportunities for non-English speakers since most Polish people speak moderately good English.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Costa Rica &#8211; for Spanish speakers</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/san-jose_773-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-9880" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/san-jose_773-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/san-jose_773-300x200.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/san-jose_773-768x513.jpg 768w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/san-jose_773.jpg 1254w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Spanish speakers can find work as programmers in Costa Rica. The cost of living is low, and the country has developed quickly over the past 10 years. This way, you can live comfortably for less. That&#8217;s why, as a programmer from Europe or North America, you won&#8217;t have to worry about being far from your family and friends. Also, because of its central location in Latin America, it&#8217;s easy to travel throughout the continent.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Russia &#8211; for English speakers</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1000" height="667" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Moscow.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-9881" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Moscow.jpg 1000w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Moscow-300x200.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Moscow-768x512.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></figure>

<p>Many companies in the United States and Europe outsource their programming jobs to Russia. If you can speak English well enough to read, write, and communicate with your Russian co-workers, you should be able to find a job in Russia as a programmer.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Ukraine &#8211; for English speakers</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="560" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/ukraine-headline-module1440x788-1024x560.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-9882" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/ukraine-headline-module1440x788-1024x560.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/ukraine-headline-module1440x788-300x164.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/ukraine-headline-module1440x788-768x420.jpg 768w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/ukraine-headline-module1440x788.jpg 1440w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>The same goes for Ukraine. Many companies outsource their programming jobs here, so an English speaker can easily find work in this country as a programmer. Also, there are many opportunities for non-English speakers since most Ukrainian people speak moderately good English.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Frequently Asked Questions about Finding Jobs Overseas</h2>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">What kinds of jobs can I do overseas?</h3>

<p>There are tons of options here, and the list only really gets shorter if you limit it to &#8220;jobs that will hire without a college degree.&#8221; This is by far the most common question that people ask about finding jobs overseas, and for a good reason: it&#8217;s really hard to find a job without a college degree.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">What countries can I find jobs in?</h3>

<p>That depends on what skills you possess and which countries hire those skills. Some high-demand skills overseas include English teachers, skilled trades (especially plumbers and electricians), nurses, doctors, engineers, Marine biologists, construction workers. Countries with fewer economic opportunities typically hire for lower wages than in the west.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">How soon can I get a programming job?</h3>

<p>It depends on your skillset. There are a lot of computer programming jobs in India, for example. Still, many of them prefer to hire people who graduated from Indian colleges simply because they already know the systems and the work culture.</p>

<p>Turkey is another good place to look for IT jobs&#8211; the economy there is growing right now at an exponential rate, and this leads to a huge demand for people who can program, build websites, etc.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Conclusion</h3>

<p><a></a>Searching for the right jobs may seem easy after going through this content. However, you need to have the necessary skills to get the right jobs. Do not forget to research more about the jobs and make sure you understand what the job entails before applying.</p>

<p>Best Cities for Expats in Eastern Europe part 2 &#8211; Part one is <a href="https://expats.adamfayed.com/best-cities-for-expats-in-eastern-europe-part-1---moving-to-eastern-europe/" data-type="URL" data-id="https://expats.adamfayed.com/best-cities-for-expats-in-eastern-europe-part-1---moving-to-eastern-europe/">here</a>.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="10-best-cities-for-expats-in-eastern-europe">10 Best Cities for Expats in Eastern Europe</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1023" height="683" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/32607507732_2face5015f_b.jpg" alt="Best Cities for Expats in Eastern Europe" class="wp-image-8653" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/32607507732_2face5015f_b.jpg 1023w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/32607507732_2face5015f_b-300x200.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/32607507732_2face5015f_b-768x513.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1023px) 100vw, 1023px" /></figure>

<p>Expats moving to a new location can get an idea of the place through current and expat reviews. One such source of information is the InterNations Expat Insider 2021 survey, which helps people compare cities based on their quality of life and ease of settling in. We take a sneak peek at the best cities to live in Eastern Europe, which made it to the top of the list.</p>

<p>The survey looks at a number of factors: Quality of Life, Ease of Settling in, and Family Life. Additionally, expat Insider also provides an overview of what needs improving and whether people would recommend their city as a good place for others to settle in. Here are the ten best cities in Eastern Europe for expats.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="1-zagreb-croatia">1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Zagreb, Croatia</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="684" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/29255640143_745390fd38_b.jpg" alt="Best Cities for Expats in Eastern Europe" class="wp-image-8636" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/29255640143_745390fd38_b.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/29255640143_745390fd38_b-300x200.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/29255640143_745390fd38_b-768x513.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>The capital city of Croatia, with a population of over 800,000 people, is as welcoming as it is cosmopolitan and has thus made it to the list. In 2021, more than 76 percent of expats said that they enjoyed living in <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zagreb" data-type="URL" data-id="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zagreb" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Zagreb</a>.</p>

<p>The city has a lot going for it as far as quality of life goes. But it also lags behind other cities on the list when it comes to ease of settling down and making friends. It ranks considerably higher for family life as well. However, Zagreb&#8217;s low crime rate and decent healthcare system make it more attractive to expats.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="2-budapest-hungary">2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Budapest, Hungary</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/31391313991_76eeb3dfe8_b.jpg" alt="Best Cities for Expats in Eastern Europe" class="wp-image-8637" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/31391313991_76eeb3dfe8_b.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/31391313991_76eeb3dfe8_b-300x200.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/31391313991_76eeb3dfe8_b-768x512.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Hungary&#8217;s vibrant capital is at number two on the list. Over 79 percent of expats rated their quality of life as good in 2021, which was one percent higher than the previous year. Additionally, 70 percent felt that settling in was easy. As for making friends, Budapest ranked pretty high on the list, but over 81 percent termed it as a recommended place to live.</p>

<p>The Ease of Settling in Index assigns Budapest a higher score than Zagreb&#8217;s, which had lesser points despite ranking higher on the list. Meanwhile, Budapest&#8217;s place on the Quality of Life Index may be due to its low score for amenities.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="3-prague-czech-republic">3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Prague, Czech Republic</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="686" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/prague-4925864_1280-1024x686.jpg" alt="Best Cities for Expats in Eastern Europe" class="wp-image-8640" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/prague-4925864_1280-1024x686.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/prague-4925864_1280-300x201.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/prague-4925864_1280-768x514.jpg 768w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/prague-4925864_1280.jpg 1280w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic (with a population of over 1 million people), ranked third on our list. Despite being one of the cheapest places in Europe to live in, expats are still satisfied with their quality of life, which increased by two percentage points.</p>

<p>Prague also ranked higher than other cities on the list when it came to the ease of settling down and making friends. This can be attributed to its high ratings for Fashion &amp; Shopping, Leisure Options as well as Safety &amp; Security—the city ranked number one on the list for this factor.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="4-bratislava-slovakia">4.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Bratislava, Slovakia</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/38152944235_c528bbca8e_b.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8641" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/38152944235_c528bbca8e_b.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/38152944235_c528bbca8e_b-300x169.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/38152944235_c528bbca8e_b-768x432.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>The capital of Slovakia (with a population of over 583,600 people) is number 2 on the list. Expats are highly satisfied with their quality of life here—79 percent, which is three percentage points higher compared to 2019.</p>

<p>Additionally, 67 percent felt that settling in was easy, while Bratislava ranked good on the list of cities people would recommend. When it comes to family life, however, expats are not quite satisfied with what they offer—the city ranks low. This is despite scoring highly enough for both Costs of Living and Ease of Settling In.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="5-ljubljana-slovenia">5.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Ljubljana, Slovenia</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/19392222130_b3f3399bd5_b.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8642" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/19392222130_b3f3399bd5_b.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/19392222130_b3f3399bd5_b-300x169.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/19392222130_b3f3399bd5_b-768x432.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>The capital city of Slovenia, with a population of 275,000 people, was voted as the best place to live in Eastern Europe by expats. It outranked other cities on the list regarding the quality of life and ease of settling down (it ranked number 5 on our list).</p>

<p>Ljubljana is also a recommended place for settling in by 82 percent of expats. Settling down seems easier here as it ranked number 17 while making friends didn&#8217;t do so well with its 56th rank on the list. This can be attributed to its low scores for Leisure Options and Nightlife.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="6-sarajevo-bosnia-and-herzegovina">6.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="659" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/sarajevo_7-1024x659.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8643" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/sarajevo_7-1024x659.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/sarajevo_7-300x193.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/sarajevo_7-768x494.jpg 768w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/sarajevo_7.jpg 1277w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>The capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with over 275,569 people, made it to the list at number six. About 78 percent of expats said that they enjoyed living in Sarajevo—a three percentage point increase from 2019.</p>

<p>It also ranked high on the list regarding ease of settling down. However, expats are not too satisfied with their quality of life. This is because; it ranked 51 out of 65 for this factor.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="7-belgrade-serbia">7.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Belgrade, Serbia</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/belgrade_346-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8644" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/belgrade_346-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/belgrade_346-300x200.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/belgrade_346-768x512.jpg 768w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/belgrade_346.jpg 1254w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Serbia&#8217;s capital city with over 1 million people is number 7 on the list. Over 76 percent of expats said they are satisfied with living in Belgrade. On the other hand, an eight percentage point increases from the previous year. It also ranked highly (at number 16) when it came to ease of settling down.</p>

<p>As for making friends, Belgrade ranked 50th place on the list—the city didn&#8217;t do too well as it scored poorly for Leisure options and Nightlife.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="8-bucharest-romania">8.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Bucharest, Romania</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="569" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/bucharest-digital-nomads-1024x569.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8645" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/bucharest-digital-nomads-1024x569.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/bucharest-digital-nomads-300x167.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/bucharest-digital-nomads-768x426.jpg 768w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/bucharest-digital-nomads.jpg 1500w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Bucharest, the capital of Romania with a population of slightly over 2 million people, is at number 8 on the list. Just over 76 percent said that they are satisfied living here. Meanwhile, a seven percentage point increase from 2019.</p>

<p>It ranked well on ease of settling down (at 22 out of 65) but not so much in terms of quality of life (ranked at 45). This can be attributed to its poorly scored factors for Cost of Living and Safety &amp; Security.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="9-sofia-bulgaria">9.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Sofia, Bulgaria</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="765" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/sofia-900056_1280-1024x765.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8646" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/sofia-900056_1280-1024x765.jpg 1024w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/sofia-900056_1280-300x224.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/sofia-900056_1280-768x574.jpg 768w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/sofia-900056_1280.jpg 1280w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria with a population of 1.24 million people, is number 9 on today&#8217;s list. Over 75 percent said they are satisfied living here—a six percent increase from 2019.</p>

<p>It ranked low (at 30 out of 65) when it comes to ease of settling down but did better when making friends (at number 31). This is because of its low scores for Leisure Options and Nightlife.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="10-riga-latvia">10. Riga, Latvia</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="960" height="640" src="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Building-Riga-Old-Town-Riga-Latvia-Dom-2419160.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8647" srcset="https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Building-Riga-Old-Town-Riga-Latvia-Dom-2419160.jpg 960w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Building-Riga-Old-Town-Riga-Latvia-Dom-2419160-300x200.jpg 300w, https://expats.adamfayed.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Building-Riga-Old-Town-Riga-Latvia-Dom-2419160-768x512.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /></figure>

<p>Riga, the capital of Latvia with over 614,618 populations, was voted as the 10th best city for expats in Eastern Europe. Fewer than 75 percent are happy living here, making it an 11 percentage point increase from 2019. It ranked low (at 42 out of 65) when it came to settling down and ease of doing so.</p>

<p>Its poorly scored factors can explain this for Leisure Options and the Cost of Living. Also, nearly two-thirds of expats don&#8217;t feel safe walking alone at night. Therefore, Riga ranked at 49th place on the list regarding safety and security.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="top-5-tourists-attractions-in-eastern-europe">Top 5 Tourists Attractions in Eastern Europe</h2>
