Top-Rated Tourist Attractions in Bali

When it comes to top-rated tourist attractions in Bali, there is certainly no shortage of possibilities. From ancient temples and stunning beaches to lush rainforests and rolling rice paddies, this Indonesian island has something for everyone. Here are just a few of the most popular destinations for visitors to Bali.

1. Uluwatu Temple

Uluwatu Temple is among the best tourist destinations in Bali. This temple is located on a high cliff overlooking the ocean, and it is said to be one of the six most sacred temples in Bali. The temple is famous for its impressive views and its beautiful surroundings.

Visitors are advised to read the Suradipura Standing Guidebook before coming, so they can have a better understanding of their surroundings.

2. Tanah Lot Temple

Tanah Lot Temple is another one of Bali’s top-rated tourist attractions. The temple has an interesting history that starts in 1968 with some fishermen who had witnessed a strange event: a large number of koi fish were appearing and disappearing in the ocean.

The fishermen attributed it to a mermaid and started worshipping the spot as an abode of Loro. It wasn’t long before people began visiting and making offerings, and thus Tanah Lot became a temple. Today, visitors come to the area not only to see the temple but also to enjoy the stunning views.

3. Batur Volcano

KITAS is short for Kartu Izin Tinggal Terbatas or Limited Stay Permit. This is a permit issued by the government to allow foreigners to stay in Indonesia indefinitely. KITAS is one step closer to being recognized as a legal resident and obtaining Indonesian citizenship, compared to other types of visas such as social or business visas.

That being said, it is issued by the Indonesian government to provide foreigners with the opportunity to live in Indonesia for an indefinite period. Foreigners can obtain KITAS if they are married to an Indonesian citizen, have a business, invest/work in Indonesia, study at the university level, or are considered highly skilled professionals.

However, KITAS holders can participate in all social security programs offered by the government but must contribute monthly to the program, except for health insurance which is now compulsory for everyone residing in Indonesia. KITAS holders also enjoy limited freedom of movement as they cannot take up employment or start a business without a work permit.

They can hold meetings, attend social events, or do business with other KITAS holders without a work permit. However, they are not allowed to work for an Indonesian company and must have a detailed plan of their stay in Indonesia if they wish to extend their visa. KITAS can be issued for one year, two years, or five years and can be renewed if the holder still meets the requirements.

To get KITAS in Bali, foreigners must fulfill the following requirements:

Be married to an Indonesian citizen

Have a business in Indonesia

Invest/work in Indonesia

Study at the university level

Highly skilled professional

For one year of KITAS, the applicant must have an income of at least IDR 750 million

Have no record of a criminal offense

Provide documents to prove that they are not prohibited from entering Indonesia. This can be done by applying for a Temporary Supervision Order (Surat Keterangan Jaminan) from the Indonesian embassy in their country of residence.

Benefits of Having KITAS in Bali

Having a KITAS in Bali is one of the best things you can do to live on this beautiful island. There are so many reasons people think having a KITAS in Bali is beneficial for them, but here are seven benefits of having a KITAS that you might not have known.

Not Only Foreigners Benefit From Having A KITAS

The first benefit of having a KITAS is that it’s not only for foreigners. If you are Indonesian, you can also get one since Indonesians can do ‘Tulis surat’ (a written request letter to the Balinese government). Just like foreign people, Indonesians need a KITAS to stay in Bali for a long period. This makes it easier for them to go back and forth between their hometown and Bali.

You Can Get A KITAS for Your Spouse and Children

Another benefit of having a KITAS is getting one for your spouse and children. This makes it easier for the whole family to stay together in Bali. You only need a Marriage Certificate or Birth Certificate (if your children are not registered yet).

You Can Get A KITAS for Any Length of Time

One great thing about having a KITAS is that you can get one for any length of time. Whether you want to stay in Bali for one month or one year, you can easily get a KITAS that will suit your needs. Just make sure that you’re in Bali when you apply.

You Don’t Have To Report To the Immigration

Another thing to consider is that you won’t have to report to immigration during your stay in the country. Moreover, a KITAS can help you stay in Bali for 30 days or more without reporting to immigration every time you go out of Bali.

This makes it easier for people on holiday or business purposes. You just need to make sure that you have a valid KITAS with you when you leave Bali.

Before introducing this article, if you are interested in our core services which are expat financial, insurance and mortgages, you can contact me here.

The best time to consider your financial situation is when you are moving to a new country.

Introduction

Living in Bali as a foreigner can be an amazing experience. With its beautiful beaches, stunning temples, and rich culture, Bali is a paradise on earth. However, there are also some things to consider before making a move. In fact, it’s an attractive option for people looking to retire!

Also, living in Bali is a wild ride. I’ve seen some folks living here for ten years and have experienced many things that have made them want to move back to the west immediately. But they’re not going anywhere anytime soon. In fact, if you’re an expat living in Bali, chances are you won’t either.

Foreigners who live in Bali fall into two categories: those who can’t leave and those who never want to go. The thing about living in Bali is that it’s an adjustment. It takes some getting used to. The culture shock, the heat, the pollution, the constant noise – it can be overwhelming for some people.

But for others, it’s an adjustment that they eventually fall in love with. If you’re thinking of moving to Bali or are already living here, you should be familiar with KITAS. It’s one thing expat would love to have after moving to this island. Have you been surfing to know what it entails? We’ve got you covered here!

In this article, we will walk you through everything needed to know about KITAS in Bali. Not only is that, but you’ll understand the ways to get a KITAS and many others, to mention a few. Do you know the best places suitable for expat in Bali? Well, we’ve got you covered too. All you need is to read further!

7 Interesting Things to Know About KITAS in Bali

It’s essential to do your research before committing to a specific visa in Bali, and the KITAS is no exception. In this article, we cover seven interesting facts about the KITAS in Bali. We save our most fascinating fact for last, so read on!

Balinese Work Permit Can Be Extended

Although a Balinese work permit is initially granted for only one year, this can be extended multiple times – depending on your situation. When you first arrive in Bali, you will receive a work permit for one year. If you want to stay working in Bali after this time has expired, the next step is to apply for a 6-month extension.

This will allow you to stay in the country and continue working while carrying out any necessary investigations into your application. After this, you can apply for further six-month extensions if required (this is done at the same time as applying for a KITAS).

Your Passport Isn’t Held

One of the great things about Bali is that it’s very relaxed. This also applies to procedures like applying for your visa – you don’t need to worry about handing over your passport at any point during the application process.

For example, when you visit an immigration office in order to renew or apply for a KITAS, you don’t need to provide your passport. Instead, they will ask for a copy of your passport photo page and information about when it expires.

KITAS Can Be Cancelled At Any Time

Although this may not happen very often, it’s important to remember that a Bali work permit can be revoked at any time. This may occur if the authorities believe you are no longer eligible to hold a KITAS, for example, if you have been working in Bali illegally. It’s therefore essential to always make sure you’re following the correct visa procedures and to keep your paperwork up-to-date.

If you need to leave Indonesia for a short while, you can apply for a KITAS travel visa. This will allow you to stay outside Indonesia for up to 60 days.

Separate Medical and Police Certificates are needed

A KITAS isn’t the only visa that you’ll need in order to work in Bali – there are other visas too. In order to obtain a KITAS, you’ll need a medical and police certificate from your local area. These certificates are usually valid for six months, but they mustn’t expire when you receive them.

Several Stages in the Application Process

There are several stages in the application process for a KITAS in Bali. The first step is to apply for a visa notification (VON). This can be done online and costs $25. Once you have received your VON, you will then need to visit an immigration office in order to submit your passport and other required documents.

Leave Indonesia While Your Visa Is Being Processed

If you apply for a KITAS from an embassy abroad, it can take several weeks to be approved. In this case, you will not be allowed to enter Indonesia within the first 60 days of your visa expiring. If you apply for a KITAS within Indonesia, it can take up to 3 days to be approved. In any case, you mustn’t leave the country without having first applied for your visa.

Checking the Status of Your Visa Application Online

In order to check the status of your KITAS application, you can visit the immigration website. You’ll need a copy of your receipt number in order to search for your application. If you have any questions about how long it takes, you should ask an immigration officer at a local office in Bali. There are several stages you need to go through before the government approves your KITAS.
